Struggling with CPAP or BiPAP Mask Issues? You're Not Alone—Here’s How to Fix Them

If your mask is uncomfortable, leaking, or causing skin problems, there are practical solutions that can make a big difference in your sleep therapy experience.

Common Issues and How to Address Them:

Leaky Mask:
Make sure your mask fits properly. Straps should be snug but not overly tight. If the problem persists, consider adjusting the fit or trying a different size or style.

Skin Irritation:
Wash your face before bedtime and clean your mask daily to prevent oil and bacteria buildup. Using a hypoallergenic mask liner can also reduce irritation.

Pressure Sores:
Try loosening the straps slightly and adding soft padding where the mask touches your skin. Rotating between mask styles may also help relieve pressure points.

Comfort is key to consistent CPAP/BiPAP use. If problems continue, speak with your provider about alternative mask options or fit adjustments.
